Top 10 Horror Movies That Did Something Brand New

  1. The thing I like about saw is that John aka Jigsaw doesn’t actually kill anyone, he gives people the tools to save themselves.

Freddy is my favourite slasher villain he’s not like Jason, leatherface and mike Myers who have no personality just kill for killing sake! Freddy has the theatrics and humour too!

Final destination franchise should be here cause it’s very unique that there isn’t some psychopath after them, it’s death itself which is I think the most terrifying thing.

  2. I'm surprised they didn't include The Sixth Sense. It certainly wasn't the first film to have a twist, but it was fairly groundbreaking at the time and really popularised the concept of twists in horror movies. Ever since, it's very rare for a horror film not to have a twist ending.

  3. Fun fact about The Blair Witch Project – The scene where the three of them are sitting around the campfire was one of the most expensive scenes in the whole movie, because the production had to get the rights for Heather to quote the Gilligans Island theme.

  4. I like the list.. But I realize on this entire viewing with the exception of Black and Lace and Nosferatu, these were all western.. Both European and Asian have done their fair change of "something new".
