    – Bruce Springsteen
"Elvis Presley is all there is. There just ain't no more. Everything starts and ends with Elvis. He wrote the book. He is everything to do and not to do in the music business."
    – Bruce Springsteen
“A lot has been written and said about why he was so great, but I think the best way to appreciate his greatness is just to go back and play some of the old records… Time has a way of being very unkind to old records, but Elvis' keep getting better and better.”
    – Huey Lewis
“Elvis was the king. No doubt about it. People like myself, Mick Jagger and all the others only followed in his footsteps.”
    – Rod Stewart
“He was a unique artist – an original in an area of imitators.”
    – Mick Jagger
"No-one, but no-one, is his equal, or ever will be. He was, and is supreme."
    -Mick Jagger
    “Before Elvis, there was nothing.”
    – John Lennon
"Nothing really affected me until I heard Elvis. If there hadn't been an Elvis, there wouldn't have been the Beatles."
    -John Lennon
"There's only one person in the United States that we have ever wanted to meet…. not that he wanted to meet us. And we met him last night. We can't tell you how we felt. We just idolized him so much. When we first came to town, these guys like Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra and all these people wanted to come over and hang around with us at night simply because we had all the women, all the chicks. We don't want to meet those people. They don't really like us. We don't really admire or like them. The only person that we wanted to meet in the United States of America was Elvis Presley. We can't tell you what a thrill that was last night."
    -John Lennon
"Some people say Elvis stole Black music. Those people are fools, Elvis gave Black people a voice."
    -James Brown
“I wasn’t just a fan, I was his brother. He said I was good and I said he was good; we never argued about that. Elvis was a hard worker, dedicated, and God loved him. Last time I saw him was at Graceland. We sang Old Blind Barnabus together, a gospel song. I love him and hope to see him in heaven. There’ll never be another like that soul brother."
    – James Brown
“He was the firstest with the mostest.”
    – Roy Orbison
"Well a lot of people said Elvis stole our music. Stole the black man's music. The black man, white man, has got no music of their own. Music belongs to the universe."
    -Rufus Thomas
"Ask anyone. If it hadn't been for Elvis, I don't know where popular music would be. He was the one that started it all off, and he was definitely the start of it for me."
    – Elton John
"It was Elvis that got me interested in music. I've been an Elvis fan since I was a kid."
    – Elton John

"I learned music listening to Elvis' records. His measurable effect on culture and music was even greater in England than in the States."
    – Mick Fleetwood
"I remember Elvis as a young man hanging around the Sun Studios. Even then, I knew this kid had a tremendous talent. He was a dynamic young boy. His phraseology, his way of looking at a song, was as unique as Sinatra's. I was a tremendous fan, and had Elvis lived, there would have been no end to his inventiveness."
    – B.B. King
"Elvis, he was unique. And he loved the blues, it was a pity he didn't do more"
    -B.B. King
"I don't think there is a musician today that hasn't been affected by Elvis' music. His definitive years – 1954-57 – can only be described as rock's cornerstone. He was the original cool."
    – Brian Setzer
"It’s insane the charisma he had. I’ve never seen anything like it to this day.”
    – Faith Hill
“When I saw Elvis on television, I just fell in love with him completely. As a singer, I want to be able to relate to an audience like this man does. Of course, nobody can – he was the best there ever was.”
    – Faith Hill
"Elvis was one of those individuals, when he sang a song, he just seemed to live every word of it. There's other people that have a voice that may be as greater than Presley's but he had that certain something."

“Elvis is iconic; a lot of performers today look to that for inspiration.”
    – Beyonce

"Elvis Presley is like the 'Big Bang' of Rock 'n' Roll. It all came from there and what you had in Elvis Presley is a very interesting moment because, really, to be pretentious about it for a minute, you had two cultures colliding there. You had a kind of white, European culture and an African culture coming together – the rhythm, okay, of black music and the melody chord progressions of white music – just all came together in that kind of spastic dance of his. That was the moment. That's really it. Out of all that came the Beatles and the Stones, but you can't underestimate what happened. It does get back to Elvis."

  2. Based on voice alone, i think Freddie is a bit better than MJ.
No offense to MJ or anything, i still appreciate what he has done to the music industry.

I also think Axl Rose and Frank Sinatra should be on the list, but that's just me though.
