Koko meets Mr. Rogers, her favorite celebrity

Comments 36

  1. As one of the first apes to use American Sign Language, Koko is the most famous gorilla in the world and has taught humans a lot about interspecies communication. But the lessons have come at a high cost to Koko, who is reportedly held in solitary confinement in a facility that doesn’t properly meet her needs. She doesn’t need kittens for her birthday, as this viral video shows her receiving, but the company of other gorillas and a more natural and enriching environment in an accredited facility.

  2. Mr Rodgers said the cufflink was given to him by his father . I think he showed sadness in his emotions when speaking of the memory which Koko picked up on. That's why Koko signed "frown"….

  3. This video of Koko is right before the unfortunate event where koko was dragging that little child around like a rag doll at the zoo.

You see, Mr. Rogers made such an impact on Koko that she tried to emulate how Mr. Rogers deals with children?
But unfortunately Koko didn't know her own strength.
All she wanted was to take that little boy to see her own trolly, or to tie his shoe.

And then they put Koko down. Oh wait, was Koko also nicknamed Harambe?

  4. Sadly both Mr. Rogers and Robin Williams, both good friends of Koko, have passed away a few years back, but Koko is still alive and well. Whenever it's Koko's time of passing, I hope she realizes that she's in good company. 🙂

  5. This is intense as fuck…………. More important than robin a koko is this video right here. Kokos favorite was Fred she watched him every day and when he died that's the whole reason they had to get her a cat
